Family Travel Guide to South Korea with Toddlers

Visiting South Korea with kids, especially toddlers, might sound overwhelming—but it was one of the most rewarding trips our family has ever taken! In this blog, we’re excited to share the Top 5 Kid-Friendly Places in Korea that we personally visited and absolutely loved.

From interactive museums to parks with epic views, here’s our full breakdown—with tips, experiences, and photos. If you’re planning to explore South Korea with kids, this blog is for you.

Why South Korea is Perfect for a Family Trip

Before we dive into our top 5, let’s talk about why Korea is such a great destination for families:

Clean and safe
Efficient public transport
Lots of indoor + outdoor attractions
Friendly to children and babies
Plenty of convenience stores (24/7 snacks!)

We traveled with two kids—our toddler and our baby—and while it had its challenges (think: diaper changes in train stations 😅), it was 100% worth it.

1. Lotte World (Seoul)

Perfect for toddlers + young kids who love indoor adventures

Lotte World is one of the world’s largest indoor theme parks, and honestly, we could’ve spent an entire day here. There’s a mix of child-friendly rides, interactive shows, and even a baby care station for parents.

Why We Loved It:

  • Indoor = perfect for unpredictable weather
  • There’s a toddler zone with age-appropriate rides
  • So many cute photo spots + characters

Travel Tips:

  • Buy tickets online to save time
  • Go early to avoid long lines
  • Bring a baby carrier for younger kids

2. Seoul Children’s Museum (Inside Children’s Grand Park)

Interactive play + learning for toddlers and preschoolers

This was such a surprise gem! The Seoul Children’s Museum is designed specifically for young children to learn and explore through play. Think science, nature, water play, art, and role-playing activities.

Why We Loved It:

  • Air-conditioned (great for hot or cold seasons)
  • Hands-on, sensory-friendly areas
  • Spacious, stroller-friendly, and clean bathrooms

Extra Bonus:
Children’s Grand Park outside the museum is massive! It includes walking paths, a zoo, picnic areas, and a free playground.

Travel Tips:

  • Wear socks (some play areas require them)
  • Bring snacks (or eat at nearby convenience stores)
  • The museum is very affordable!

3. Namsan Seoul Tower (N Seoul Tower)

A scenic experience with love locks, cable cars, and views

Namsan Tower isn’t just a tourist spot—it’s a fun, memory-making place for families. We rode the Namsan cable car, explored the viewing deck, and even left a love lock with the kids.

Why We Loved It:

  • Kid-friendly cable car ride
  • Great views of Seoul
  • Cute photo zones and cafés at the top

Fun Fact:
Levi loved looking through the telescopes and spotting “tiny cars and buildings” from the top!

Travel Tips:

  • Use a baby carrier instead of a stroller for easier mobility
  • Bring snacks for kids (lines can get long)
  • Go in the afternoon to catch the sunset

4. Garden of the Morning Calm (Gapyeong)

A peaceful, scenic escape perfect for families with young kids 🌸

Located in Gapyeong, the Garden of the Morning Calm is a beautifully landscaped garden filled with themed sections, seasonal flower displays, and walking paths. It’s an ideal break from the city, where toddlers can explore nature safely.

Why We Loved It:

  • Wide open walkways and stroller-friendly paths
  • Vibrant flowers and relaxing ambiance for the whole family
  • Less noise, more calm — great after busier tourist spots

Travel Tips:

  • Visit during spring or autumn for the best blooms
  • Bring snacks and water — food stalls are limited inside
  • Take the Gapyeong City Tour Bus for a stress-free ride

5. Nami Island (Namiseom)

Nature, playgrounds, and Korean drama feels

Nami Island is a classic stop in Korea—and yes, it’s super family-friendly! You’ll find wide open parks, bike rentals (with baby seats!), and plenty of nature trails. There’s also a forest playground perfect for toddlers.

Why We Loved It:

  • Ferry ride was exciting for our toddler
  • Nature therapy for the whole fam
  • Kid-friendly restaurants and picnic zones

Pro Tip:
We rented a family bike—Levi laughed the whole time! Hunter stayed in the stroller while we took turns biking and resting.

Travel Tips:

  • Bring a picnic mat and enjoy under the trees
  • Go early or late to avoid crowds
  • Layer up if traveling in colder months

✨ Final Thoughts:

Is Korea kid-friendly? YES.
You just need to pace your itinerary, choose the right attractions, and be prepared with the essentials (diapers, wipes, snacks—always snacks 😂).

Korea surprised us with how welcoming and safe it was for families. The mix of indoor play spaces, interactive museums, and natural attractions make it ideal for traveling with babies and toddlers.
