Where to Stay in Calatagan: Stella Marina Calatagan Resort Perfect for Families | A Review

If you’re looking for a quiet, private resort in Calatagan, Batangas that’s perfect for families — we just found one! We stayed at Stella Marina Resort, and we’re so excited to share our review and experience as The Dioneses.

Last weekend, we decided to slow down a bit and take a much-needed family escape to Stella Marina Resort in Calatagan, Batangas. What made it even more special was that we visited Calatagan to check on my best friend, Angelic. It turned out to be one of the most relaxing family trips we’ve had this year.

Why We Chose Stella Marina Resort

We were looking for a private resort in Calatagan that’s perfect for families—something quiet, clean, and kid-friendly. Stella Marina Calatagan was shared by Angelic and Tita Rissa, and after seeing a few photos, we booked a 3D2N stay for ₱5,000 per night for our group of 4 adults and 2 kids via Facebook. And honestly? Sulit na sulit.

Family-Friendly Amenities That We Loved

Here’s what made Stella Marina Calatagan stand out for us:

  • 2-minute walk to the beach – Yes, literally! We were surprised how close it was. Perfect for spontaneous beach walks.
  • Near the Calatagan Beach Walk – If you’ve been here before, you know it’s a nice spot to just walk, unwind, and enjoy the breeze.
  • Private Jacuzzi – Relaxing here after a long day of beach play? YES, please.
  • Clean swimming pool – Very well-maintained, and our kids had the best time splashing around.
  • Friendly caretakers – Sobrang bait nila! They made us feel right at home and were very responsive to our needs.

Our 3D2N Experience at Stella Marina Resort

Day 1:
We arrived in the evening and immediately felt the calm vibe of the place. After settling in, we did a quick walk in the area. It was a slow and peaceful night with the family and Angelic — just what we needed.

Day 2:
This day was all about family time and gala day. Beach in the morning, pool after, and then we ended the day in the jacuzzi under the stars. We also got to hang out with Angelic and catch up — something we rarely get to do these days. We went to Cape Santiago, Hacienda Bigaa, and had merienda at The Beach Calatagan Mediterraneo.

Day 3:
We didn’t want to leave! We spent our last few hours swimming again, taking more family photos, and just enjoying the quiet. It’s the kind of trip that reminds you why breaks are important.

Affordable Rates for Families

We paid ₱5,000 per night, which is honestly such a great deal considering the privacy, cleanliness, and amenities we enjoyed. We didn’t have to worry about crowds or noise — just quality family bonding.

Why Stella Marina is Great for Families

As a young family traveling with kids, we’re always on the lookout for spots that feel safe, relaxing, and kid-friendly. Stella Marina Calatagan checked all the boxes.

Here’s why:

  • It’s close to the beach but far from the noise — perfect combo!
  • The pool was clean and safe for kids.
  • The resort was private, so we could enjoy without worrying about strangers.
  • The caretakers were incredibly kind and accommodating. From check-in to check-out, we felt warmly welcomed. Thank you, Kuya Michael and Ate Tess!

A Few Tips from The Dioneses

If you’re planning to book a stay at Stella Marina Resort:

  • Bring your own food or groceries since the resort is a bit far from the grocery stores — there’s a kitchen area, and you can cook or grill.
  • Don’t forget to catch the sunset by the beach walk — absolutely breathtaking.
  • If you’re visiting friends or just exploring Calatagan, this resort is a great base.

Final Thoughts: Would We Go Back?

Absolutely. For a private family escape in Batangas, Stella Marina Resort is a hidden gem. It’s affordable, family-friendly, and located in one of our favorite beach towns in the Philippines. We’re already looking forward to going back — maybe next time with more extended family or for a celebration.

If you’re looking for a private resort in Calatagan near the beach, we definitely recommend checking out Stella Marina Calatagan.

Till our next family adventure,
– The Dioneses
